This Is How Often Most Women Really Want Sex
We’ve all heard the ever-persistent cliché that women want sex less than men—and we all live in the real world and know this isn’t true. There are plenty of men who regularly turn their partners down, and plenty of women who can’t get enough, and vice versa.
In fact, if anyone out there still thinks that our libido is dictated by our gender, a new survey from fertility app Kindara should put those feelings to rest. After 500 women ages 18 to 65 answered a series of questions about how often they have sex—and how often they want it—the study found that:
53.2% of women want more sex than what they’re currently having
60.8% of women desire sex three to five times a week
13% of women desire sex more than six times a week
38.6% of women have an orgasm at least once per sexual encounter
10.2% of women have multiple orgasms per sexual encounter
89.2% of women agree that sex is important to their relationship satisfaction
While the majority of women want more sex, 46.8% are satisfied with the current amount they’re having, which is encouraging. Also encouraging? That 38.6% of women are having orgasms every time they have sex! While we’d still like to see that number be way higher, It’s nice to see a solid one-third of women have attentive partners, and/or have their go-to techniques and positions down-pat.
Where do you fall in the desire, libido, and frequency of sex spectrum? Do you want more? Less? Or are you happy with what you have?
